Toni Hawks Floyd

Born in Walla, Walla, Washington, Toni spent her early years on the Oregon Coast with her mom, dad, two older brothers, four older sisters, and generations of mostly feral cats.

Her love of storytelling began in elementary school. In high school, she was chosen as one of only two students in the county to attend a state writing conference, based on her short stories and poems. 

​

After high school, Toni moved to New York City to train at the Joffrey Ballet School and eventually danced professionally in musicals and song/dance revues. She has taught classical ballet for over three decades.

 

Travel is another of Toni's favorite things. She has visited Japan, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Prague, Italy, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Ethiopia, and the Bahamas. 

 

Besides Washington and Oregon, she has lived in New York City, Florida, Texas, and Nevada. California is her permanent home with her husband, three kids, and their awesome rescued dog.
